Call for Volunteers – PICC`10 needs your help!

You’ve heard about it, you’re interested, maybe you’re even already registered. Why not join in the fun and help out?
It’s not too late to volunteer for PICC`10!

We need all sorts of help…things you can do for even an hour or two during the conference, with no
other time commitment involved (except, of course, the time it takes you to say, "YES!")

You can:

  • Attend a local user group, announce/ talk about the conference/hand out flyers
  • Get more sponsors
  • Promote the conference on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and perhaps even with local print media
  • Work on the conference program book, t-shirts, bags, USB keys, other printed/prepared items
  • Staff the LOPSA booth at TCF for a two hour stint April 24 or 25
  • Set up or break down the conference (hotel staff doing the real grunt work, but ya never know!)
  • Staff the registration table for a two hour stint during the conference
  • Coordinate timing of talks/papers/unconference Saturday so that everything runs smoothly
  • Suggest other things that might need to be done (WARNING: Suggestions often constitute mandatory volunteering to follow-through on the suggestion!)

Note: Volunteers (as well as speakers and panelists/presenters) are all required to register for the conference. Volunteering for PICC`10 entitles you to our undying gratitude, lots of great insider information and networking, and certain other perks (small additional discount, plus who knows?)…but a free conference is not on the agenda, not even for those of us who have been organizing for months already.

Also note: There is not a need for Security or Network/Ops volunteers for PICC`10 (unlike many volunteer-run conferences).

Everyone is welcome to join the conference call tonight (or any Monday, 7-8pm) and/or volunteer!
